Exactly the way i am looking at it. Always wanted one so want to buy one before they all soar even higher in value. The beauty is if you buy it at the right price you can make a bit on it come sale time.

Nothing more to add except that my car being older than the OP makes me feel very old indeed! I had my first one when I was 17 and the insurance was 2800.

seriously, try direct line, I was surprised when they came back to me with £200 fully comp for my 1.9 (albeit with 7 years NCB and Cobra) naturally I bit their hand off and have had nothing but good comms with them since. Avoid Footman James, they're crooks!

 

That is good value but not agreed value though Colin unfortunately (not that I know much about Direct Line.......) which for these cars is key really.

Cheers for the replies. I have been reading through the restoration threads on here and it has made me even more eager to get one very soon

 

What are the differences between the phase 1,1.5 and 2 ? Also what years were each manufactured ? My dads old one was a F reg so does this make it a phase 1.5 ?
