Which Colours Are The Hardest To Paint Well?

In terms of car spraying and achieving a good finish are some colours considered harder than others?

 

e.g. are darker colours less forgiving of any imperfections than lighter colours?

Black is the worst. Shows every imperfection

If you are thinking of getting a car painted, I highly recommend you get "paintless dent repair" done before any prep work. It's not too expensive and minimises filler. If you have no rust, and get PDR done, you'll be able to pick any colour you want.
