Gave mine a 'little' wash today.

Followed by a glaze (BlackHole), wax (Spirit) and final detail spray (Sonax).

Click for video.

Finished the car off today, fully rebuilt dry sump pump, new wheel bearings. Only getting 2deg camber on one side, not sure what is going on.... Oil pressure good at 45psi at idle.....Plunge on CV about 5mm, could use a bit more... Just a wheel alignment needed....

MOT'd!

Nearly set fire to it yesterday when I was sorting stuff out, 25 year old electrics aren't fun, so really happy it all paid off.

Second MOT in my ownership and relatively painless.

Only bad thing is they picked up coolant leak. Back of the engine somewhere, I will investigate tonight.

Investigated weird oil leak.

Changed the oil.

Fixed the side light

Was reminded that trying to fit a nos 8V alternator belt I had kicking about onto an Mi16 for an hour doesn't work.

Bought new belt, changed.

Cleaned dust from the inside of the throttle bodies

Re oiled air filter

Put it all back together.

I love the holidays.

Finally got a look at the central locking receiver.

I have had water dripping through in the past. Seeing the recent thread where an interior was badly damaged by fire I wanted to sort it.

Opened up the casing, thanks to Anthony on this. Unplugged the receiver and was met with this.

Badly water stained! Heaven knows how close it could have been!

There was also rust on the sunroof vacuum cable puller.

I clean up all the terminals and tightened up the 7mm aerial bolts and the 2 10mm bolts leading out to the top of the sunroof. Each of these turned twice before tightening.

With the receiver I have left it unplugged. I do not have a key blipper and it looks they are hard to get a matching pair. Although, it would be nice to have, entry via key to activate the central locking is no real strain.

I would urge all those with 205's to check their connections.

I'll report back during our 'summer' of rain if it returns.

Changed oil and filter and filled up cooling system with fresh antifreeze and deionized water. Ran up the car and bled the system.

The end of the winter overhaul is getting close :)

Dropped the fuel tank out and fitted the last brake pipe. Treated surface rust. Fitted new handbrake cable clips and fitted new exhaust clamp. Rechecked rear ride height, it's 322 between shock mount holes but just looks too low at the rear :(

Refitted the clock, which now works, dash is now complete. Touched up the trim with some Plasticare, looks much better. Removed the hideous wind deflector from the sun roof, been meaning to do that for years.

Looked for the coolant leak; it was picked up on the MOT and there was dripping water from under the car when I picked it up on the MOT day. But I cant see anything and there's been no dripping since. Strange.

Took it out for a drive and a pub lunch in the New Forest.

That's what I had with my beam Davie and turns out it is a beam from a base model I think!

So I swore at mine a lot today and contemplated swapping beams over but Sat on my arse instead and had a beer! Much easier.
