Not too sure when it will be done, but she'll be stripped to the bare shell and rebuilt to better than new factory spec, The only thing which is being keep OE is the paintwork and interior trim, which even if it doesn;t come up 100% it's original which counts for more than a respray in my book anyway

She's been stood for over 13 years but only 2 previous owners and very low mileage, FSH and original V5 too

Is the '87 that rare now? Mine was registered 31/3/87 but I haven't really thought anything of it!

Not for a 1.6, it is for a 1.9 though.

Got to love that headlight missing the glass, from that era I think every single mark 3 and 4 escorts and orions at the time used to pop its headlight glasses out eventually

Nice work Miles.

Most cars is OZ look like this. Faded bumpers etc from the sun. Your lucky the paint lasts over there.

Are you going to keep it or move it on?

She'll be kept and stored away when done and come out a couple of times a year as you cannot replace anything like this, Well if someone makes me an offer I couldn;t refuse that would be another story but it goes well with my early CTi too

The forum background dwellers are the ones to watch. They sit there silent, then suddenly pop out and blow everyone out of the water with GTIs with 5k on them etc. I reckon some of them have more 205s than you could ever imagine!

Sounds like our Derbyshire meet with one chap with a 1988 5k mile 1.9 white NSR and the 1992 Miami Top Gear car :)

The biggest collectors are rarely on the internet, let alone car forums !

The guy who i purchased My dimma from is the same, not on any forums

But has loads of cars ( by the sounds of things )

I just wonder how he/they can collect so many cars without being on a forum

word of mouth ;)

Indeed but surely being on a forum and going to monthly meets is better than 'word of mouth' because there are more mouths ;0)

I think folk underestimate how many 205's are still out there.

For example, within a couple of mile radius of my house, I bought my low miles laser green off an old gent who isn't an internet user, there is a nice miami blue owned by a guy who owns a local hairdresser salon, again not on forums, then there are a couple more 205's that are infrequent forum users also in the same radius.

I also know of two more locally, one belonging to a guy who I deal with at work, and another that is a friend of a work colleague.

Then plenty of others locally over a larger radius that I know through the PSCUK and here.

Same here, I know there's quite a few road rally cars around the South Wales valleys for certain, DCC found an Euro Rallye engined XS less than a mile from his residence in west wales, the owner at the time wasn't a club member, but there were PSOOC stickers on the car.
