306 Arm Abs Sensor Lug

Recommended Posts

yorkshirekowboy

I rebuilt my 309 beam with 306 trailing arms for my 205, and I read a post last night saying the 306 abs lug has to be removed as it fowls the body of the 205. I must admit looking at my other 205 trailing arm it has a similar lug just with the hole.

The piccy below is the beam on my car with 306 arms on a 309 tube. Sits nice . It was all painted up and after a couple of years it looks rusty. Wasted my time painting it all.

Should I really remove this as it's still on the car, I can't seem to think it will now cause any problems as the body has a bit bent to cater for the lug.

Another question sorry I jack the rear of my car to get one wheel off using the bottom of the trailing arm where it meets the shock. This ok. I was thinking it would take a lot of weight to bend one of the bolts that holds the shock to the trailing arm so they should be fine.

Just getting it back on the road after two years hence the bombardment of threads. Sorry .

If the beam is already fitted and not causing issues (or already bent whatever it was going to) then I personally wouldn't worry too much.

It's a shell tolerance issue anyway IMO given that some cars won't have any issues, whereas others will even with the same parts fitted.

No issue jacking off the bottom of the training arm and I tend to do so rather than using the sill jacking points, although I would personally try to avoid jacking from the bottom of the shock - it shouldn't cause issues and the bolt will take a lot to bend it, but really is no need when the cast trailing arm is only a couple of inches away.

That's really nice to hear great thanks. Yeah they don't seem to be causing any issues . The jacking thing I will use the cast arm next to the shock from now on
