Recommended Posts

Just about to remove a lump for my phase 2 xsara vts and just wondered what needs to be done before removing the ecu to ensure it's unlocked.

Cant be used in a 205 very easily (like phase1 or 306) so it doesnt matter, you wont be using it.

no, you need a phase1 vts loom and ecu or any 306 loom and ecu.

Its a multiplexed loom and ecu. Some of the sensors differ too. As meirion has said you need the phase 1 xsara vts loom or any 306 gti 6. Ofcourse an ecu too. But some sensors on your engine will be different to the loom

No problem I'll try the wanted section thanks.

Last conversion was phase1 306, just assumed phase 2 vts would be similar.

I take it I'll need to replace some of the sensors too? Phase 1 was so simple compared to this junk

actually the phase2 is simpler as its digital and uses one temperature sensor instead of three

there's a hint for you ;)

you'll need to basically get anything the earlier non-multiplex loom doesn't fit, which afaik specifically is only the temperature sender.

you will need the earlier injectors too, and if you get a pre 98 loom you'll need the earlier map sensor too.

You need the knock sensor & ECU Temp sender, Injectors you can use and I have found no issues with the one's I tried with the std ECU

Yes you can use a phase 1 VTS loom, Mind the 306 looms are easier and neater
