Deox C, Damage To Races?

Recommended Posts

will1991

I've just stripped my beam down and would ideally like to soak the trailing arms in Deox C ready for paint. They still have both the beam shafts and hub stubs fitted and I'd rather not remove them to be honest as they're immaculate and don't need replacing. A photo for clarity...

What I'm asking is, will Deox C damage the shafts in any way? remove plating etc? Same goes for the races in my hubs.

I'm also open to suggestions as to what the best thing to prevent future corrosion might be.

I'm no chemist so sorry if this is a silly Q!

Thanks,

Will

deox will damage the bearing surfaces afaik, so you need to be careful and remove anything that may be damaged.

don't use it. I used it to clean up some galvanised nuts and bolts and it completely stripped the coating.
