Fabbing Up An Exhaust

Recommended Posts

johniban

I need to fab up an exhaust system for my 205 gti6.

Where does everyone buy their exhaust parts from? im thinking mild steel as im going to paint it anyway and the welds will rust if its stainless steel.

my manifold isn't a standard gti6 item its a 4-2-1 aftermarket mild steel item, the outlet is 60mm so about 2.25 inch,

Also i need a rear box that i can add my own tail pipe, a 2.25 inch tail pipe but looking light the original

Not the cheapest but jetex has a nice selection and it's decent quality too

As said above jetex mild steel is good stuff. I made a section of exhaust up with their various bends, which was then painted and it's quite hard to see where the joints are, with it painted black, unless your really looking. I had to do this myself, as time after time being let down by custom exhaust places promising to do one for me, for weeks on end.

I got my selection of stuff from here. Maybe not the cheapest, but I always get good service and delivery time to Northern Ireland from Merlin, which is why I use them time after time for Motorsport parts.

I used exhaust uk for my boxes, pipe and mandrel bends. Quality is good, has been on the car a good few years now.

Big Ups for them, they had a pair of spherical bearings to me in New Zealand in 2 days.
