Either atmospheric or positive ventilation systems may not be large enough to handle the somewhat higher "blow by" which exists in turbocharged engines. It is recommended that the engines breather capacity be increased when a turbocharger is added. Even when the systems capacity is adequate, the elements in the systems breather will become partially clogged through use. Also, the breather may become clogged with mud or sludge in winter or under snowy and icy conditions. These conditions will cause positive pressure to build up in the crankcase. I'm guessing they're well baffled on the inside to stop it throwing all the oil into your catch tank? Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

DC2T 51 Posted May 12 Finally managed to get back on this project, 10 years..... Anyway, recently procured a 3D scanner so set to work. Did the B18 and engine bay. Positioned them in one another and modelled up some initial mounts ill later 3d print and test fit. Mounts will use off the shelf rubbers. My mill will be getting fixed next month so ill be knocking up a full set of these providing the 3d prints work as intended 1 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

I'm no expert in fitting a Honda engine in a 205 but with the length of that gearbox mount will that not create a large pendulum style movement? That really is only a question, I've no clue what other solution you could use to mount the box but it just looks like a lot of possibility of it rocking around a lot on and off throttle? DC2T 51 Posted May 12 Yeh im not too happy with it myself but id been designing most of the day and left it there. There will be a third mount at the rear but i need to scan a bit more and remove the standard mount from the engine first I could probably triangulate something to keep it more stable. If i goto all the trouble to make these, ill make a full kit to sell. And figured some people would want to cut and chop if possible. DC2T 51 Posted June 9 (edited) The more i scanned the more i learnt, so i decided to scan my bare turbo engine, and everything else individually so i can build up a more detailed assembly. Removed the subframe from the car and am in the process of scanning the wishbones, uprights and suspension. Then ill redo the engine bay. DC2T 51 Posted June 23 Thanks man. Ive just done the gearbox and had a right faff on as the file size was coming out at 3.5Gb. After a bit of tweaking i got it down to 500meg and NX is happy with it again. What kind of file do you class as workable? these are OBJ as saved from the scanner and i can use them. I'm not entirely sure what i will do with the files atm, i am in the process of setting up a business which will involve this kind of thing and rapid prototyping etc. One option i have considered is selling the files on my website for a reasonable amount. Also the service of coming out and scanning peoples things is another. Either way, I think ill need to modify the subframe a little to fit it, but it doesnt look too bad. I think if i removed the corner section from the frame it would go. Its been that long since i had my old 205 i cant even remember what this was for, any takers? Also, been thinking about the mounts. The B18 has 5 mounts as standard. So was thinking one up from the gearbox top to the standard mount, then the front gearbox mount to the chassis leg as you had suggested damo Then one off the back of the box to the subframe And the front rh side to the chassis frame again I could even do another rear at the other side It could fit 2 back, 2 side and 2 front by the look of things Tomorrow, ill do the other upright Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

DC2T 51 Posted June 24 Dont know why, but in my mind it used to go on the upright bit of the frame. easy delete for this purpose then. Going to grind this out on the weekend and ill rescan. Will be going for their fully adjustable suspension setup for the front. Just setting up to scan the entire car inside and out in preparation for this. DC2T 51 Posted November 2 I got this done today but my laptop s*it the bed. Will have to do it in smaller scans so it can process the data. The dots help massively though so the full car scan is definitely getting done. I'm going to pull the red recaros out my integra shortly and look to create mounting hardware to get the ball rolling on the interior. DC2T 51 Posted November 2 (edited) Im not promising anything, but i may put the STEPs up on here for people to use when im done. I had planned to make up a kit once this is built, we shall see I need to get some over to Satchell Engineering for them to make the custom wishbones so i can achieve proper wheel width. I plan to use the standard integra wheels on this and get a full championship white respray to make it look similar.
