DC2T 51 Posted December 14, 2013 (edited) Well i won the auction for the 205 shell i was after, which ive wanted since i owned my last 205. Its only a 1.1 style on the logbook but the base model makes relatively little difference. The plan is to fit the forged engine im buying off a friend into my integra and finish off the turbo conversion, this will free up my standard engine which would otherwise just sit in the garage and fit it into the 205. The plan is to sort all the bodywork, respray it in championship white, fit my teg wheels, dash and red recaros, along with maybe my standard suspension and 282 brakes but we'll see about that aswell as a cage in time.Tuning wiseif i do anything at all i may stick a set of throttle bodies on that im also designing at the moment. It may take a while but ill get there Standard teg radiator fits which mean standard hoses etc will alsoDash in the teg for a rough sizing, very similar in size so again shouldnt be too much of a problem, may have to square off the rear to get a snug fitSubframe to replace with either a gti one, or if i get my wish a DC2 one with some adaptations obviously Suspension mount in the inner wing, massive in comparison to the DC2205 suspension vs DC2 suspension, if i had some scales handy id weigh them but my mate has them for fishingA rough guide of how its set up, the one on the left is the 205 and the right is DC2. Ive designed an adapter to bolt onto the strut top of the DC2's then bolt up onto the bodywork of the 205. the bottom of the strut is a smaller diameter also but i can make a bush to suit no problem, ill either make an extension piece to cover the 85mm or split it and make the piece 40mm and the spacer at the top 45mm thicker. When i have some more of the setup at hand ill design more into it. On first glances though the setup looks similar in dimensions on both setups so may not be soo hard to convert after all... Any comments or criticisms always appreciated Edited December 14, 2013 by DC2T

calvinhorse 870 Posted December 15, 2013 I can't help but think what's the point? What will you gain from using the honda suspension apart from a massive amount of work?
DC2T 51 Posted December 15, 2013 I dont know yet, i need to weigh up the options first and have a good look at both. If the teg suspension is ridiculously hard to do with little benefit ill go with the gti. If its relatively straight forward and it gives me the extra width i want then ill go for it. Im not dead set on anything
Juttie205 123 2 Cars Posted December 15, 2013 Waste of time using teg suspension unless you are using on the rear just stick with gti running gear and correct offset wheels and u will get correct width. By putting teg stuff n it could be awfull now i know how gd a dc2 is bu will it work on a 205 plus we all know gti is good with its setup and ur not going for silly power. DC2T 51 Posted December 15, 2013 Using the rear is on the cards aswell, again i just need to do some research and get some sizes of things to see whether it would be feasible or not
Juttie205 123 2 Cars Posted December 15, 2013 I just think the gain if any will not be worth the time and effort.
Tom Fenton 1,542 Posted December 15, 2013 Each to their own, personally I would stick with the 205 suspension as rather than masses of work you can just concentrate on the engine and box conversion, still plenty to do, engine mounts, gear change, driveshafts, wiring, etc. You can always then a later date look at the suspension should you decide you want to change it all. DC2T 51 Posted December 15, 2013 Aye thats not a bad idea, the main focus will certainly be the engine etc but as i have no gti running gear or anything else really as yet to put on im measuring up etc with the teg parts i do have. I picked up my forge engine today so i can now put the suspension stuff on hold and as you say focus on the mounts etc
cybernck 402 1 Cars Posted February 15, 2014 Any updates on this?
DC2T 51 Posted February 15, 2014 Not as of yet, I did decide to keep it peugeot running gear as mentioned above and just get some half and half shafts. Ive had a nightmare few months with things going wrong and stupid un necessary bills etc. Ive just been paid yesterday too which will enable me to go buy the subframe i need, which in turn will let me start making mounts etc. Ill update when i get those bits though, i bought a dash which is to go in too but as i say been real busy lately
Daviewonder 533 3 Cars Posted February 15, 2014 I'd keep the 205 dash myself. Fitting a Honda one will just create loads of extra work for no real gain (plus it looks a bit gash and won't suit the car).
DC2T 51 Posted February 15, 2014 we'll see what it looks like when its in, its either that or no dash really
DC2T 51 Posted February 25, 2014 Ive just ordered a subframe and wishbones whicb should be here round the weekend, ill try and do some work to get it on etc but as ive been working everyday lately i duno when thatll be
A1AXX 26 2 Cars Posted February 26, 2014 Honda the lot on the inside, be different mate. Following this closely!
DC2T 51 Posted March 6, 2014 Got my 1.9 subframe through which is in pretty good condition, one balljoint was knackered so i took the arms off to measure up and make some new bushes for them out of nylon with steel inserts which i later found out maybe not be the best idea? but then found that the balljoints werent replacable either lol. So ive got 2 bar arms now sat there which i think ill convert to run rose joints instead. and in the mean time ill get a set of 309 wishbones to tide me over A few questions regarding this, obviously the 309 are wider but when rose jointing does this matter? as i could rose joint the 1.9 ones and just space the joint out slightly further
DC2T 51 Posted March 6, 2014 (edited) I think itll look good tbh, and refresh the dated interior plenty. Ive also got a set of AP1 S2000 clocks which ill be fitting aswell which will look something like this when theyre done http://i57.photobucket.com/albums/g233/sigurney/ebayproducts004.jpg Edited March 6, 2014 by DC2T
DC2T 51 Posted May 29, 2014 (edited) Ok a bit of progress finally, ive had a lot on my plate at the moment with my girlfriend out of work aswell as other things which have severely hindered my ability to get on with anything. Now thats coming to an end ive had more time to get cracking again. So anyway, theres a place up the road from me called Stella Blast which has a good reputation and was pretty cheap i thought, the guy says if i want anything else doing to just bring it round and the more things the cheaper itll be etc. Cant go wrong Firstly, he stitch welded up the subframe for me along the seams. Then acid dipped them to remove any paint or s*ite left on the metal, then blasted and then powder coated. I got him to do the solid subframe mounts that i made too so they wont corrode into dust. Got the ARB done aswell while we were at it too. He said he couldnt powder coat the 309 wishbones due to the inability to remove the balljoints and that the 180 degree oven would knack them so we just blasted them instead. Once home ive stuck them in the shed and given them a coat of red oxide primer then ill paint them black to match the rest of the subframe. And while i had his time, i got him to weld on some AN fittings to my rocker top for my turbo build. Once drilled through and i cutout the ends for the cam gears he says he'll powder coat it for me [url=http://s6.photobucket.com/user/205Turbo/media/20140529_162724_zps82bc9b91.jpg.html][/url Next on the cards is some front hubs and maybe some GTI suspension which again, will be powder coated like new and fitted. Thatll at least give me a rolling chassis and allow me to have a platform to mount the engine into. Im gonna fix my lasses accord and use that as my daily driver and take my integra off the road, thatll let me swap engines relatively quickly. Ive started to attempt to strip the loom down to minimum components too, in this car i dont need PAS, AC or ABS so over half the loom can come out. Ill let you know how i get on Edited May 29, 2014 by DC2T
Rich_p 23 Posted May 30, 2014 Isnt there an issue in mounting B18 lumps into 205's due to the way then engine runs? Or are you planning on using the honda gearbox too?
