Automatic Bonnet

Recommended Posts

Guest tombiledit

Hi everyone!

I'm looking for automatic bonnet for my 205, and please tell me if this kind of bonnet was installed only on cars with automatic transmission or others. Could anyone one show me the name of firm and part number for spare part of m/a bonnet or oryginal Peugeot part number?

Only what I could find in Pug cataloge is two types of bonnets: for carburators enginnes and second for injected enginnes, however I can not find any difference in description.

Mayby is there any firm accros Europe, which produce such a spare part automatic bonnet.

Thanks!

Yep, only fitted to the automatic 205 to give extra clearance underneath. They are pretty hard to come by, and even a pattern part costs the best part of £100 and i hear not many places are willing to send it due to the risk of damage.

But i'm glad you've brought this topic up, as i have just bought a brand new genuine Peugeot automatic bonnet from someone who obviously didn't know what it was worth... :o:(

Are these pattern ones that go for around 100quid a good fit then??

and does anyone know what a new oe one costs??

Also, I've always wondered why do they have the bulge?? Surely the auto engine is the same, only the gearbox differs :o:(

cheers

I think the bulge is there becase of one of the gearbox mounts casues something in the bay to sit higher than normal... can't really remember the exact reason... remember readin it on this fourm though a good while ago.

I think the pattern bonnets are around £90+vat

Had a quick look at the Parts Cd, and the number for the auto bonnet seems to be 7901C4, although i'll confirm that when mine arrives next week. :o

I know that eurocarparts and autofive do pattern jobbies but I would also be interested if anyone has used these with regards to fit as Im looking at getting one as my bonnets knacked and needs replacing.

Well I found a genuine Pug one, on a Pug in a scrapyard near me for £20. :P

Cost me £70 to have it painted to suit the car but still...
