Did The 205 Gti Auto Versions Get The Bulged Bonnet?

Hi all,

 

Just been looking at a cheap 205 GTI auto version, but its not got the bulged bonnet as per the others; should i be worried?

Nope, it was for the 1.6 carbed auto only I believe. As auto GTis they run the standard injection setup, they dont need any extra clearance and have the normal bonnet :)

only the carbed Auto had them, the SPI and MPI AUto's were standard bonnets.

 

Ironically with all the bonnet bulge hype its totally in the wrong place for people wanting carb or jenvey inlet clearance :lol:

Even Gentry's had normal bonnet's, the clearance was mainly at the back for the air filter for those horrid carb things

the SPI and MPI AUto's were standard bonnets.

Not all of them had, my mums old SPI Mardi Gras auto had an auto bonnet & I've seen several other SPI auto's in my local scrapyard with them also, although the standard bonnet will fit them but as said, the GTI engined autos had the standard bonnet.

Both my 205 Si's (xu5m) have the bludge bonnet and they are both manual.
