G60luke 0 Posted December 10, 2013 I currently have the black bilsteins on the rear which as we know are awful. Its only a weekend toy but I have no desire to replace the front B4 Bilsteins. Will the challenge spec Bilstein rears be too much with B4's up front? The other alternative is Gaz adjustables. Theres £40 in the price, so cost between the two isn't a major factor. What would you do.......
Tom Fenton 1,536 Posted December 10, 2013 Brand new genuine Peugeot dampers will be a good match for the B4's at the front.
Anthony 1,002 Posted December 10, 2013 With Bilstein B4's on the front I think that I'd be putting some new / low mileage OE 306 GTi-6 dampers on the rear. That combination works well in my experience.
G60luke 0 Posted December 10, 2013 Many Thanks for the replies, any idea on current cost for both? Ideally want to keep it under £150.
Alan77 78 1 Cars Posted December 10, 2013 As said above, new Pug rear dampers would be a great match. P/N 5206TE, about £60 each IIRC...
welshpug 1,646 Posted December 10, 2013 B4 rears aren't bad any more, they changed them some 4 years ago, or you could put ZX or Xsara ones on as they are for a stiffer torsion bar anyway.
Mac Crash 78 1 Cars Posted December 10, 2013 Bilstein B4's are on the front of the 205 as OE?
welshpug 1,646 Posted December 10, 2013 no, Peugeot made their own dampers.
will1991 11 1 Cars Posted December 10, 2013 Bought a couple of 5206TE OE dampers a couple of weeks ago. They came to £46.79+VAT each. They come with bushes which I wish I'd known beforehand.
