Does A Quaiffe Splined Quick Rack Fit A Pas Casing?

Recommended Posts

brian j

I am looking at rebuilding/replacing my worn steering rack, and having searched the heck out of it, it seems that the Quaiffe splined quick rack kit is not too hard to source a pinion bearing for. Given Ph1 Xasara racks are not exactly common now, I wondered if it was a competent DIY typr porject to rebuild my existing rack using an AB Motorsport Bronze bush and a quaiffe splined rack kit.

I can't find any reference to whether it fits a PAS rack or not, or whether rebuilding it is within the scope of a comptent DIYer.

Does anyone know?

Or what he was trying to say was, no it won't fit the pas rack as the pinion housing is much longer than the manual rack.

yes, sorry, that  hit the wrong button !

nobody does a PAS quick rack due to the more complex pinion.
