i think 1.2's will be the best for weight and brake clearance. here is a pic of my old ones, et15 15x7 on 1.6 running gear.

I have the opposite problem, I need some custom wheels made, 15x8 Et0 who can do this in a light weight rim...

They are not pretty, even more so with that they are battle scarred from their group 4 days. I would describe them as brutal? I like them!

Right, I've been doing some thinking... And running a pair of these on the front with just c5's on the back

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Revolution-5-Spoke-Classic-Rally-Race-Alloy-Wheel-15-x-8-Escort-Mk2-Group4-Fit-/291034740305?pt=UK_CarParts_Acc_Wheels_tyres_Trims_Car_Rims_ET&hash=item43c305b651

8x15 with 0 offset.

Not sure on fitment but my car currently runs et18 on C5's which are 6.5x15 but also using a 15mm spacer to clear brakes and on 309 gear.

Wheels do stock out of arches a bit at current which isn't really a problem, no rubbing but do you think the 8x15 revolutions will be much wider?!

What 16x8 et0 wheels look like on a standard arch 205 GTI, I could in theory drop the front of my car back to 205 GTI wishbones from 309 if the 15x8 Revo's are to wide

C5 wheels are only 6" not 6.5".

I don't think the 309-205 will make that much difference when you're talking about that much tyre, they just wont fit under a base model arch full stop.

What Parry's 205 looks like with 15x8 ET0

Yeah my mistake on the C5's

Well I can gain 50mm narrower width by removing 15mm x2 spacers and 20mm additional width by going back to 205 bones.

Parry's car by the looks of it is running wider track plus 8' rims mine with 8' won't be as wide as that. Hopefully the rims won't rub the coilovers!

I have successfully widened the track by using rims with an ET0 and 8 inch, not sure how this would be on a rally car. I am also using BX driveshafts with 306 steering rods but this more for camber rather than track. The wishbones needed to be extended by 30mm to utilize the longer driveshafts.

I had some 8" TH's bolted onto the ZX, ET0 and no issue with the struts, just didn't clear the brakes due to the profile of the well, they now live on on a 205 up Derbyshire IIRC.

That's good to know. I think the revo 5 spokes have pretty good brake clearance. I may order just one single wheel and trial fit, if it doesn't work out I'll box it back up for a return.

Want them in black but seems only white are available

How did they fair on sticking out the arches compared to C5's or similar pug wheels?

no idea specifically, as there wasn't a front wing on my car at the time, the 205 they are on now, they stick out a bloody mile and its a gti

Here's a comparison from standard 6" 205 wheel (or C5 wheel) vs an 8" ET0 rim.

http://www.willtheyfit.com/index.php?width=185&aspect=55&diameter=15&wheelwidth=6&offset=19&width2=205&aspect2=45&diameter2=16&wheelwidth2=8&offset2=0#content.

so taking into account your 15mm spacer and that the new wheel shouldn't need that, they'll stick out a further 30mm each side, and be 22mm or thereabouts closer to the strut than your current arrangement.

I also remember that I did bolt up a set of ET28 Ouragans on my 309, they did not rub the strut, though they were damn close :D

http://www.willtheyfit.com/index.php?width=185&aspect=55&diameter=15&wheelwidth=6&offset=19&width2=205&aspect2=45&diameter2=16&wheelwidth2=6.5&offset2=28#content

so in theory you may be able to get an ET10 or even ET15 x 8" wide wheel on there, giving you only 15-20mm extra poke, however given that yours IIRC already rub on a 6" rim running an effective ET4, you will need bolt on arches and some cutting.

this lot is only theory, you do need to get hold of a rim and try it.

That's a handy site!

No rubbing on my wheels with the current setup.

So in theory with that site an et0 15x8 won't sit in any further than a C5 rim by any real amount but will have 45mm more poke out per side than a standard rim.

My current setup has 50-55mm more poke out (309 gear plus 15mm spacers) so if I removed spacers and ran 205 bones I'd still have 30-40mm more poke out than my current setup...

that extra 10mm from the 309 wishbones is only at the level of the wishbone, it'll be less at the wheelarch/tyre interface.

you're only running 25mm wider, not sure where you get the 50-55 from?
