Alternator Advice Please

Ive pinned the bag of spanners noise down to my alternator, so looks like I need a new one.

 

Could someone let me know what alternators are suitable as Im after the cheapest one I can get.

 

 

The current one fitted is a Lucas LRA 471. The car is an 89 cti thats had the D6B engine fitted.

I may well have a spare Valeo item (Well I know I have 2 spares) which I will check the condition of later. They were working fine if you're interested in 2nd hand ones, just pop up a wanted thread.

Whats the going rate for a used one?

at a guess £20 + post

Had a price of £67 for an exchange one.

 

Think id probably rather that n know its good.
