Alpine Speakers - Front Door Fit?

Recommended Posts

eastlondonpug

Hi,

I am looking to buy 13cm Alpine SPG13C2 speakers as they will in theory be a great upgrade for the current setup I have.

The issue is that it seems from the pictures that the tweeters protude a little bit. I have a suspicion that the tweeters will foul the original car speaker covers/grill (and therefore will not be able to fit the original car speaker grill).

Does someone know if they fit without creating issues with the speaker grill or has someone got these speakers who can maybe confirm?

Comments will be appreciated as I will be ordering these online and will be a major hassle to send them back if they foul and create issues for the fitment of the speaker covers.

Thanks

Should be fine for the fronts, but they would foul the covers in placed in the rear.

I'm also looking to buy a pair of these, caraudiodirect has them for £37.99 at the moment.

I'm only going to power them from the headunit that's rated at 50w output. Are you guys running these straight from the headunit, how do they sound?

I'm wondering if they might be a bit powerful for headunit only power and I might be better with something rated a little lower?

Thanks

Nic

They fit well.

I am running them via a small amp (Alpine KTP). They sound very good, although there are better speakers out there but costing probably 3 times as much.

The stock head unit power should be adequate for normal listening and should power these without any issues.

Thanks
