What's people opinions on brake hoses. Witch do you use and any experience on them as there's so many to choose from. Should I splash out and fit stainless items? I'd rather the rubber one for now as their cheaper.

I have a set of Miles' stainless hoses on the front and the quality is top notch, i can't say if they changed the 'feel' at all since i changed the calipers at the same time. On the back i used some new motaquip hoses, again when i changed the calipers, they were very well priced (about £6-7 each iirc) and the quality was good - Just be careful because the motaquip listings are a bit mixed up, my car is non abs but the correct length hoses were listed as 'ABS only'.

I got some corrteco hoses from GSF a few years back for the 205, and used motaquip on the 309, very cheap!

unless you are rallying or racing I don't think there is need for them unless you have an unusual brake setup which can;t be catered for by parts bin raiding.

I have fitted full stainless hoses with stainless ends on the car I am restoring because they should last forever. Fit once and forget.

I did the same as Tom. I made stainless hoses with all the ends and sections required. Fit and forget.

Mike, i have replaced all my fuel lines on my 106 gti with an-6 teflon msa spec stainless overbraided lines and anodized fiittings.

Im in the middle of doing the same on my 205 gti, i cant comment on the 205 as i haven't yet completed fitting them neither am i using the standard pump or fuel rail.

Id be very interested in a PM from you about stainless pipe as i need to make an exhaust
