Can This Be Roved From The Steering Rack

Is it possible to remove this part from the main steering rack shaft.

not easily afaik, though I've never needed to remove it, why do you want to remove it?

Going to all the effort to refurb the steering rack and this sticks out like a sore thumb as it's badly corroded.

 

It it could be removed I was going to re-plate it
