Another Insurance Thread, But Bargains Are Worth Sharing

Just been on the hunt for a reasonable quote having received a quote north of the psychologically significant (for me) £500 point from Adrian flux. The car is caged gti-6 running bilsteins and gti-6 front brakes. Not unusual for this forum I'd say. I have SP50 from 2009 to declare.

Well, Heritage offered to cover the car under a classic policy (something I often find is rejected with the gti-6 lump under the bonnet) for £203 inc legal cover with 6k annual mileage. Sky quoted £400.

Seems to be a massive variance, so I thought I'd highlight this, should others be looking for companies offering sensible policies.

Good price there but if you are comparing price, you should also compare cover. Classic polices are usually fairly stripped back.

Thanks for giving us the opportunity to provide a quotation.

The assumption is that the buyer was happy with the level of cover offered.

You'd hope he was otherwise he wouldn't buy cover. My point is valid though.

Do sky insurance offer a classic policy that utilises no claims bonus' and also continues to issue no claims bonus'.

Hi,

Sounds like you got a very good deal there. Unfortunately we can't be competitive on ever quote. Thanks for trying us though.

Regards,

Dan.

Greenlight, 100% recommend

i pay 550, which is staggeringly good for me. (23 yr old, 3 ncb, no points)

plus Neil is a good bloke to chat to about your options. Well worth giving them a call.

Great deal regarding mods not effecting your price if you're under 185 bhp (give them a call to find out more to make sure)

Yes, but it's not a classic policy.

Another vote here for Greenlight. As John said, Neil is a top bloke to help you out with your quote.

Im 22, 5 years NCB in a E rated postcode and i pay £550 a year on my GTI6. Cant complain when the nearest to that was over £900!

RH Specialist for me,they have various policys don't know what they are like on a different lump but I'm 44, on a classic policy, not using any no claims for fully comp on 3,000 miles a year its about £90 I think (thats 1900 with cage, carbs etc... declared).

On my policy I can easily add cars, may help give them a try.
