Electric Window Problems

Recommended Posts

riddlecharlie

I've got an issue with my electric windows. Neither of them work, all switches have power running to the 3rd pin and I have tested all of the switches using a multi-meter and they work as they should. However when I press any of the switches the voltage on any all of the points is then nothing and the motors don't kick in as far as I can tell. Anyone have any ideas on what to check next, or the best way of linking 12v and a ground up to the motor bearing in mind it is up in the door out of view and reach.

Oh and I have looked at all the other posts I can find and nothing really helps. I'm just at a complete loss.

Cheers,

Charlie

check that power is exiting the switch when you press it.

Yes, power is exiting the switch when I press it. I can only think that it is the motors, however would it not be strange for both to have died at once?

Just to make that clearer there is no voltage across the switch when it is pressed
