Changing Gearbox On My Car Tomorrow.....

Changing box on my gti6 205 tomorrow afternoon to a 1.6 be3. Any pointers worth knowing before I start I how how to do the job just I know there easy ways and hard ways of doing jobs!

Remove the battery tray and the gearbox mount stud if it'll come out. If you're bench pressing it in on your own Its favourable to take the speedo drive housing off too to make life easier

Jack under sump with wooden block and loosen all the mounts too, lower the bugger down

Taking all these on board thanks. Got use of a mates garage with 4 poster so should make things easier for the bits underneath admittedly, not much
