Erratic Rev Counter

Recommended Posts

Jolly Green Monster

As subject. Flickers all over the place. Worse with lights on. Bad earth?

205 gti 1.6 with gti6 conversion.

Any common things to check?

Tried search but couldn't find anything

Thanks

Simon

Depends on how the Rev C is modified really, Could be a loose connection or a failing adaptor

Battery is solid.

Will investigate how it has been altered :)

Mine did this. Was todo with converting the tacho so it worked with 16v. I soldered the two contacts with a wire and it did it. (guide on here how to do it)

Never found out why as I bought a Stack Dash!

Mine only flickers for a nano second when I load the electrical current. I converted the clocks for the record.

It has also been modded on the back of the clocks.

If it were for a nano second only I wouldnt worry.

Will go over the wiring and worse case fit an after market rev counter as its currently unuseable as a rev counter

mines nearly the same as this. if the engine speed drops below 1000rpm for a split second whilst the ICV gathers itself, my needle shoots up a bit then settles ok. wiring mod to rear of binnacle same as the guide on here.
