205 Rallye Crankshaft Locking Hole For Cambelt Change

Recommended Posts

fliprio

I'm doing a cambelt and camshaft oil seal change on the Rallye and I'm having trouble finding the crankshaft locking hole for the 6mm bolt.

Haynes describes it as being on the left hand side of the gearbox casing on the front of the engine, which is similar to this picture of a 1.4 206 Tu engine - but it doesn't seem to be there

It wouldn't be unusual for the Haynes manual to be wrong - either that or im blind

There should be a plate near where that is and its around 2-4 inches from that. Its pretty tight to the block, my tu3s block has a small slightly raised bit around it.

most definitely not far from where your looking :) If you was closer id come and show you :P

I can take a picture for you tomorrow if that helps out??

Thanks, I found it this evening once I could get a torch on it, but it was packed with hard crud and took something sharp to push through it so you couldn't actually see it from looking at the area.

Next job is to make a camshaft pulley removal tool to get to the seal :-)
