Don't bother unless it's show car! Pick a safety devices one up on ebay for couple of hundred, I did!

if its a road car you dont want a front cage as in an accident they are designed for competition === crash helmet is harder than your head -if you went to disprove this statement get your mate to wack you over the head with a length of 38 mm tube and let us know the result ! also a lot of insurance firms dont like cages in road cars

This argument pops up on every roll cage thread. Your head is also going to bounce off the A and B pillar which again is a lot harder than your head at least with a padded cage or even without padding at least the pillars will stay where they are and not crush you.

thanks for the replies, and ye im only really goin to be using it as a show car and maybe the odd car cruises, which is why im not really looking for a full cage, the idea of halfing the full cage is a good one but my wallet unfortunately wont stretch that far lol, but still I cant find out where to get a half cage. also I would be putting padding on it anyway( better to be safe than sorry). cheers.

They went out of fashion back in the 90's, I doubt you will find one, you could make one from waste pipe though, it would be very cheap and very light then.

But the pillars are further away from your head than the tubes from your cage.

I removed my full cage for a half cage for the same reason.

With buckets seats+harness my head was close to the tubes. In case of an accident without roll, I think a half cage is much safer (without helmet).

In Germany there is a company that makes half cages; Wiechers, but it's money wise probably better for you to mod a OMP cage or so....

The pilers won't be further away when the roof is caved in

You never know how bad an accident is going to be so expect the worst fit a full cage or don't bother

We're talking about road cars, not full blown track racers..... So you think every road 205 should fit a full cage??

The latter part of that statement makes no logical sense! To make an analogy, it seems a bit like saying "fit the biggest brakes you can, or don't fit brakes at all"

Think he just meant that a rear cage is next to no good without the front section without getting too anal about it all it was just someone's opinion.

About right there

After seeing a mates 205 hit a tree and the passenger door ending up next to the drivers seat I think that if you go to all the effort of fitting a cage and loosing your back seat you might as well fit the front

But at the end of the day it's just my opinion not saying it's right

thanks again for the other suggestions ill take a look at those web sites and ill maybe consider a full cage although a half cage for me seems slightly better as its mainly for show and the occasional drives, also I care to much about my car to race it( without suggesting that nobody else cares about there cars) as iv wanted a 205 before I could drive and luckily I was able to get one for my first car (my 205 xs) plus I cant race anywhere anyway because of the fuel prices lol. so thanks to everyone.
