Battery Clamp

Has anyone got a photos of the battery clamp in their car as mine is this kind.

When I got the car it was not holding the battery.

 

I have had to space it out to lift the bracket up then turn it and the corner just about grips the battery.

Should clamp it in fine. Have you got the correct sized battery in there? Should sit tight the lip on the side closest the wing.

go to your local dealer, that will be about a quid, not £5.20!!

 

make sure the battery hasn't got inserts along the lip, many do to pack them out for taller clamps.

Ive got battery pushed up against the edge of the tray nearest the wing and the clamp on the other side.

 

The battery thats in there is one I bought from Halfords for a 405 diesel. But the one that came with the car was just as crap a fit

 

The issue seems to be more that the clamp doesnt reach far enough across into the tray rather than height, hence why I have to have it roated so the corner just grabs it.

 

If I removed the inserts the height issue would be solved but dont think the clamp would reach at all then.

 

If I get one of the over the top brace things from any old car in a scrappy will it fit?
