Clipping Rad To Fan Cowling

Recommended Posts

acox99

Has anyone got a picture of the top clips where they clip on the rad, and does it show if the rad butts up against the surround or if the top lip of the surround goes over the top of the rad so the rad sits down inside the cowl slightly.

Just I can't figure out how it clips on with the rubbers, its either too slack and the rad wobbles around or it's too tight and I can't get the clips anywhere near the rubbers. It's not an oe rad and it appears to narrow for the fan shroud.

I can't do pics until Monday but if someone could post some pics of what they look like fitted together I can work out what's going on with it!

I assume you have a couple of missing parts, I had the same problem number 5 missing x2 in the picture. £2.56 each from your local stealer probably have to buy 5 as usual.

No I have them. It just doesn't look right. Which way should they face for them to clip. Have you got a picture of an assembled rad and fan shroud?

Unfortunately not I never bothered getting any for mine, just left the rad to swing about a little. Well that was when it was standard now ive done an engine conversion space is such an issue that all the bolt on stuff actually holds the rad flush anyways.

I think il stick it in the car and see what happens. It's not rocket science just looks a bit Heath Robinson and could fall out.

If I recall correctly the spring doesn't sit flush on the rubber block, it looks a bit of a lash up.

Yeah your right Dave, and mine are new springs as well, not the best design.
