Baffled Sump Worth It?

Recommended Posts

MrMemzi

Im in the process of cleaning up my engine while its out. I do a fair few track days. And I was wondering would it be worth getting a baffled sump on? Ive never had any issue but id rather be safe than sorry. Thanks

Any baffled sump is better than none. Some are better than others.

if you've got more grip than a standard 205 gti then I'd say yes. (cage, tyres, diff, suspension etc)

Are you mad!

If you do lots of track days you are crazy to not have a diff

Lol. Knew that would get a reaction. I need to go out I someone's 205 with a diff to feel the difference. Admittedly the loss of power around bends kinda sucks. Ill keep my eyes open for one.

To be honest if you have 150hp or less a set of sticky tyres combat most of the wheel spin.

can't run sticky tyres on the road though, so I'll stick to my 130 ish bhp and a diff ;)

I found uni royal rainsports 2 to be great for all weather. But then when you put I them on say a mk1 focus rs running 300bhp. They become useless
