burr_2000 1 Posted October 10, 2013 For my class I can only use fiberglass bonnet And tailgate, but have to retain the glass. Has anyone ever run a fiberglass tailgate with glass? Wondering if its even possible or what weight saving would roughly be.
calvinhorse 870 Posted October 11, 2013 I had a smith and deakin fg tailgate which was lighter than standard but you can chop a lot of weight out of a standard tailgate (if allowed!) and then you retain the glass, latch and lock for the grand total of £0.
burr_2000 1 Posted October 11, 2013 i am not allowed to cut holes in any panel, i was just gonna bond the glass to the fg tailgate, not really fussed with the lock and such like as its purely used on track. i am not sure if anyone has done this? it would be so much easier if they allowed perspex windows. mmt 15 Posted October 20, 2013 I've just cut 2 kg out of my tailgate but it still weighs way too much. Where can I buy one made of GF?

mmt 15 Posted October 21, 2013 Thanks. Can you post a picture of it? Straight fit or much adjustment? Does it fit to the original hinges ?
