Hullavington today, really enjoyed it,

probably the last time the red car will see the track and the road as drove it there and back.. only issue all day was brakes, really not inspiring confidence when the pedal was getting longer and longer.. rear drums need adjusting and possibly a wheel bearing but matter not as mild plan is engine swap wednesday to the dark grey car..

Few pics from today anyway

engines now out the red one and gearbox swapped onto it and nearly ready to drop into the grey car

had to make a bracket for the crank sensor to sit in on the be1 gearbox which I am hoping we measured and have put in the correct place - soon see.

Because the gearset and diff is built into a be1

its a Peugeot sport close ratio gearbox (heavy duty semi helical gear set, long first, short 5th, works end case), BE1, ZF diff, 4.8FD bought from Alex on here..

If I swap it to the 4FD then I might look and see whats involved with swapping it to the BE3 casing if its possible to do..

decided the bracket for the crank sensor wasnt solid enough or accurate enough location wise (was intending altering it with a timing light) but as I had a spare box sat there had a rethink

The red shell is stripped and now loaded on trailer ready to take to scrappy and weigh in, removed headlights since pic taken, found some rather bad welding on drivers rear quarter, looks like a large section had been replaced just behind the door.. eeekk.. glad I didnt do anything to test the strength of the repair.

the floor looks to be okay.. there is some rust on the mounting point on the passenger side for rear beam.

I have remove wipers, wiper motor, tempted to remove screen and doors, got drivers wing to remove and rear lights.

Not decided whether to make it non rolling at the moment - its a time verses weigh in cost lol

how soon will it be going?

Friend of mine needs the left side section of the floor where the rear passengers feet would go, as we can see daylight through it where it had a dent from a ditch/hedge interface it seems several years ago.

it would be sacrilege to weigh in stuff like hubs wishbones steering rack beam etc, even if they need work, someone will give you more than weigh in price.

it looked find when I took carpet out but will double check

1.6 hubs, have another set of wishbones for sale and no one interested lol

rack I want as a spare but not made mind up to make it non rolling yet.. even no interest in 1.6 wheels with tyres!
