Can anyone confirm that the 405 TBs are the same as the Partner/berlingo TBs and therefore will fit the 309 beam?

Yes the tbs are the same as 309

Splines are a touch shorter on 405 tbs. but length is exactly the same as 309

I have at 405 beam available but the guy selling it can't be bothered to measure the TBs. It's quite far from me so I wanted to be sure before I took the trip.

if its a phase2 then chances are they will be 20mm, that is the largest they ever came in, basic models ran 18.9mm.

 

so none are stiffer than a 309 gti.

Afaik 405 Mi16s have 20mm bars

 

Lesser models will have smaller bars.

 

I've just rebuilt my mi16 axle and was tempted to use the 21.3mm partner bars, but decided to keep it original spec torsion bars and the 20mm arb.

 

I have a spare mi16 axle which I will rebuild with the thicker torsion bars, and I am hoping to have a 24mm arb custom made
