Speed Sensor

Recommended Posts

I am fitting a digital dash, so the analogue cable from the gearbox (MA) will be no use. Has anyone used a speed sensor and where have you installed it for a reasonably accurate account. Any pics or help appreciated. Its a dash 2 and noticed on the race technology site you can buy a wheel speed sensor.

Can't you just use the speed sensor found on later 90's PSA cars that had digital dashes (eg Phase 2/3 306's, Xsara's etc)? Straight swap for your existing item.

And burr_2000 did the solution Anthony suggested work? I am also planning on a Race Technology Dash 2 and came up with the same question you had.

I've used a 306 speed sensor with an aftermarket electronic speedo successfully. That was a Caerbont one which was very flexible with its input - http://www.caigauge.com/page27.html

I'm currently fitting an SPA Design kitdash and I'm thinking of doing it the same way as it is very neat and tidy compared to fitting extra brackets and glued on magnets etc and it gets rid of the now redundant speedo cable fitting.

Yeah, I was thinking among the same lines. It's OEM, no extra sensors or brackets needed and that wobbly cable can go. I would expect the Dash 2 to be flexible enough to accept this, but will try to check.
