Throttle Body Cleaning And Gasket.

Recommended Posts

Hi

Im going to take my throttle body off and clean it.

How do you remove the idle speed screw? I wound it all the way out then it wouldnt come out even with pliers.

Secondly can I clean the throttle body in a parts cleaner or will submerging it cause damage to any internals?

And lastly where can i get a throttle body gasket from as i cant find it on the internet anywhere. Is it a dealer only part?

Cheers

Rich

there are no internal parts bar the butterfly, so crack on with the cleaning.

do remove the throttle position switch of course.

there is no gasket, but there is an o-ring, might still be on the inlet if you can;t see it on the throttle body.

idle screw should just wind out, it does have an o-ring on it as well.

Cool.

Weve got a parts cleaner at work, think its full of white spirit and hopefully will save some scrubbing.

Any idea what size the o ring is for the throttle body as i'd like to change it so I know it wont suck air.

cheers
