Nice reg plate, not sure which mags to contact, but just phone them up and ask to speak to the relevant person then say "you should do a feature on my car"

When they ask why, then tell them why... something missing from the rear shot of the car.... just needs that little bit of detail...

http://www.motorstown.com/images/peugeot-205-t16-05.jpg a similar tailgate graphic would give it a finished impression, in that style of course to suit, 205 Mi16 etc...

gratz on finishing, enjoy! :)

Nice engine work and sweet plate , seems abit max power ish but they aint about anymore so that would not be a good place to start lol ,

I would read a few magz and see which one your car will fit into i guess would be a good shout , certainly have no idea on which one thought

Cheers guys, I think i will make some calls but as you probably know its so hard to describe an extensively modified car. I agree with the 'max power' look, When this project was started it was the fashion then but i took over the project a few months ago and finished it to detail, The quality in the build is 2nd to none but i wont take the glory for that as i only screwed everything together. From the non tinted glass which every pane was brand new to the fuel filler which is now behind the o/s rear light cluster!

fatstig i actually looked at performance french cars magazine and they are currently looking for cars to feature but they have a dedicated form to fill in and send 3 pictures, Do you think i should take that route or the more direct route of your suggested email? Also whilst looking at that mag it seemed that they lean more towards big power machines and maybe not too interested in body or interior?

I feel a twat saying it because you've clearly put a lot of time money and effort into it and it looks to be of a very high standard but...... You're 10 years late buddy

hahaha no i totally agree its 10 years too late, but the pictures do it no justice at all. Its more the quality of the car than the look, The paint is an alfa romeo flip colour and have been treated to many coats of paint and laquer and polished/flatted to an inch of its life! Ecosse still sell the kit too but i wouldnt think its a big seller now!

I was going to say exactly the same. 11 years ago that would have been 'in fashion' so to speak but now most magazines would be looking at the 205s which had been kept up together at an original standard or restored sympathetically whilst many have become neglected.

Does look like it's been built to a good standard, so fair play to you on that front - we all have different tastes :)

Thanks Chipstick, I bought it as an unfinished project, basically a rolling shell covered by an inch of dust! in fairness all the hard work was done and all i had to do was bolt it all together and having rallied 205's for over 10 years i have plenty of knowledge of playing with the damn things. There are build receipts for over £7500 without the bodywork! My original plan was to break it but upon seeing the quality of the shell i had to see it finished.

That looks MINT.

However, I don't like it. Useless comments from me as always as that's not what you asked.

I'm not sure of what mags feature that type of car any more?

The pictures dont do it justice at all Orb, and its as good underneath as it is on the top. i've tried to do my best in counteracting the 'unfashionable' body kit by giving it some OZ wheels and keeping the interior 100% standard, even down to the refurbished full leather seats and same treatment to the grey carpet.

Ok another question.................... If i were to sell it where would the best place be to advertise it? here, fleebay, pistonheads, cork board in my post office at the end of the street that the grumpy old cow charges about £50 per hour to advertise!! ;)

that is a very clean looking car. no doubt a lot of time and effort gone in to that!

I like it, but not my cup of tea, but certainly there is a market for it.

if it were mine I would have done the exhaust differently, lights, mirrors and maybe a slightly darker blue (like your trumpets).

I like it for a different reason though - nice to see somebody taking some pride in an old car :) and there seem to be a few pricey bits there :)

The people at that pick the cars for photo shots can be a funny old lot when they want in picking cars, I was lucky with mine as they were looking for a original one and silver to go with the black golf. I have spoken to the people at performance french car but and been asked to take my 205 up to there show but mag feature not yet, I guess they get original 205's sent in all day long and its got to be something that stands out and different and your 205 does all that and you do see a few cars from Europe with styling like yours so you mite be lucky, any way good luck and keep up the good work.

How does it handle, out of interest?

I've emailed fast car with some pictures, So hopefully have some kind of reply out of them soon, So i guess its only performance french left. As to how it handles i will honestly say i dont know, I've only done a few miles in the car and dont want to give it a hiding A- because the enigine block was a brand new peugeot item albeit 9 years ago and hasnt been run in at all and B- because im too bloody scared to get any kind of stone chip at all on the paintwork, This is the biggest problem with this car in the way that its a 'polisher' rather than a driver. I can say though that the few miles i have done in it drove perfectly as it should because its all brand new!

My thing is originality, but each to their own and yours looks like you've put a lot of time and effort in. I've seen that colour on an Alfa Spyder - looked great. If you wanted it to look slightly less MaxPower, it's probably the upper rear spoiler that I'd lose!
