De-Rusting Hub Carriers

Good read :)

 

Have you removed rust from hubs like that before? I used a similar product on mine and it removed the polished surface that the bearings run on, causing them to rumble like mad.

The back of the bearing has a seal, the front of it doesn't.

No, I striped the ball bearings out of the hubs and de rusted the hubs.

I've cleaned rear wheel bearings up before by sealing the bearing off with gaffer tape then gently sand blasting the exposed surface.
