Hi

my car has had a 1.9 conversion. How do i know what injection system i have, the Haynes book of lies talks about 2 different L jet types and a Motronic?

most common is the LE2 Jetronic, however it is easy to tell, check the part numbers on the ecu and afm, on a car converted from a 1.6 it may even be still on the 1.6 ecu and afm, which though not ideal by a long shot, will run quite well.

Does the afm from the 1,6 in combination with the 1,6 ecu any damage on the long term on a 1,9? I'm working on a conversion at the moment and i'm just curious what it would do, just to understand. (i do have a 1.9 afm and 1.9 ecu)

I'll do so of course, but my question was what would be the damage to a 1.9 with 1.6 afm and ecu? What do the 1.6 afm and ecu different from the 1.9 afm and ecu?

ok.

so my afm part number is 0280 202 109 and my ecu (if its the box under the drivers dash) is 028 000 359.

so anyone mind telling me what injection system i have and if they are the 1.6 or 1.9 bits.

Having some idling issues I want to sort and I want to get it all set up properly as it doesnt seem anywhere near as powerful as it should.

where will i find the engine code to check what that is?

cheers

Found a link to a site listing all ecus and afms and it seems i have all the right 1.9 parts.

so is is the l jetronc or the le2? then i guess its a case of cleaning all the intake parts and following the haynes book and hopefully it wont get worse.

cheers guys
