I've opted for bigger pipework this time, should help it flow better. Not sure if the old cooler would of been man enough

Well it's going good. 300 miles in :)

Boosting at 32ish psi.

Easily kept up with a 330d 14 plate bmw the other day, he was flat out

The 11mm pump is maxed out and it pulls bloody well

Just from first impressions it's better on fuel as the turbo passes more air down low compared to a t2.it doesn't spool up as quick and you can drive it off boost more

On a private road before any body asks

It's still more to give. Got a less restrictive air filter setup to go on and make a more free flowing back box.

Wastegate arm needs tightening as well. Only doing 31/2 psi at the moment

Bit of an update

had a boost leak from the slam panel wearing through the boost pipe.

IMG-20141022-WA0003_zpsigebvl6h.jpeg

fixed that that now.

Also I fitted some refurbished injectors. I'm very very happy with the results, literally no hunting at all when starting on veg from cold

Hey mate do you still have this?

Love the mods you have done, in fact this thread is part of the reason I bought mine

http://retrorides.proboards.com/thread/181724/1989-205-diesel-hello-smurf

Here she is.....

DSCN1808.jpg

She is a 1.8 diesel, non turbo. All i have done so far is lower and wheels, but have found a 1.9 turbo engine locally that will eventually be fitted.

I have bought a set of stdt dash clocks same as yours, but was wondering if I also need a loom? or will they just plug in to original loom?

Cheers steve.

The car itself is no more sadly, but the engine etc lives on in his white GTi shell - there's a thread on here somewhere called "Roadspeed Revival" IIRC (in my name as it was my car one upon a time and Paul continued it) :)

nooo, you wont need the loom, I've done 1.9 DT into a 1.8 non turbo and used the original loom

The gti loom is the same as the stdt.

I'm currently using a gti loom on my stdt clocks

I may have a loom in the garage, it's not perfect

Ah, I didn't realize the gti loom was the same.

When you say not perfect what do you mean?

How much do you want for it?

Cheers steve.

Do you have to change the loom for the whole dash board ( switches etc ) or is it just a small sub loom?
