205 Values

I too hate these threads, but I'm out of touch with all things 205's.

I have an '88 1.6 in graphite with factory sunroof, I just don't use it, I have never driven it on the road.

I have had it probably three/four years, I had it sorted by Carl Chambers two years ago (last MOT done then), rebuilt head, beam, refurbished pepper pots, bolster replaced, water pump etc etc. it is totally standard, tape deck, the lot. It is not concourse, tidy, but the paint is it's weakness as it has 208,000 miles on the clock!

I have another 205 which I will never sell, so whilst not ideal, where are values ish for the above? I'm only after ballpark.

Thanks,

I'd say the miles and paint mean £1000 which probably doesn't represent the overall condition but are 2 major things buyers consider. Even though yours has had the mechanical jobs done, there will be lots of others out there at a grand with tidy paint and half the miles.

I would say if you can, put it away. Drag it out in 5 years time, have it painted, then enjoy it for a summer then move it on, probably for significantly better money than now.

As a caveat I may be totally out of touch with 205 prices so may well be shot down, but that's how I would value it.

Thanks Tom, good advice. As soon as I put the post up I regreted it, but couldn't find a way of deleting the thread only locking it.

I'm going to stash it away and enjoy it when I have more time, I will get the paint sorted too. Weirdly, as the miles are so galactic I rather like it be so high milage.

I must pull my finger out next year and actually use a 205.
