Q-Drive Drive Shaft

So, I bought one today. I was moaning at ECP about the reputation and the girl behind the counter said I can have an offside one for 35 quid with the full warranty.

 

The item that's now on my kitchen table is an (alleged) new item and not a re-man item, to be fair it looks good.

 

I am only starting this topic as a bit of a time stamp, so, I'll fit it in the next day or so, and then we will see if the bad reputation is justified. If it can suffer a GTI6 being driven hard, then they are ok.

 

Time will tell.

Check the compressed length, you may well find it is longer than the existing item meaning hard cornering with the suspension compressed will cause the shaft to bottom out and rumble.

slight hijack but are shaftec driveshafts any good ?

Shaftec is really hit and miss.

I've got them all round on both xudt and gti6 205's

 

The NS shaft on the derv 205 length has horrendous play in the inner cv and vibrates like mad at 70 and above. But to be fair it hasn't shat itself yet.

 

Both shafts on the gti6 309 length appear to be fine soo far.

 

I did have to get a driveshaft on the derv replaced over 2 years ago. That was when I had base model hubs
