As a young driver insuring a GTI 6 conversion is a big challenge but does anyone know of any companies who would do a decent price or any help at all would be appreciated! thanks!

At 18 years old (assuming your profile is correct) I think that you're going to really struggle to get sensible priced car insurance on a modified hot hatch I'm afraid, and generally speaking, most classic policies and such like aren't open to drivers as young as you - typically they're usually either 21 or 25.

 

Best that you can do is to phone around the usual candidates - HIC, Adrian Flux, Sky, Greenlight etc - and see if they'll cover you and if so, what premium you're talking. Be prepared for much sucking through teeth though...

 

A standard 205 GTi - or atleast one without major modications like an engine swap - would be much easier to insure (if no doubt still pretty expensive!)

think even for a standard gti you will be talking atleast £1500 - £2000
