that is the build thread car looks soooo choice. And yes best way to get the wheels out is 309 running gear and decent offset on your rims. Camber in the rear is a bit hard but i dont think the 205 suits rear camber.

I had SL434's with 309 stuff and the fitment was LUSH just probably needed to run 175/185 on the back instead of the 195 as the tread stuck out a bit.

It sounds like spacers are your best bet Kyle to get the aesthetics better, but as has already been said, 1.6 front hubs are wider than 1.9 ones so the wheels stick out a lot at the front on that set up. I assume you want to stay with 1.9 Speedline alloys. If not, you can carefully select your offsets for the look you want to achieve.

 

Dare to be different and build the car you want. If you are looking to have a high potential value on the car for resale, then as close to standard is probably the nest.
