so as stated i recently got a 205 and the bottom end was knocking its tits off and had a water leak and dont fancy repairing just to find more damage internally so im gonna opt for a xud9 from a 306. just afew questions really, anyone know if the engine mounts are all the same? and also can i get away with my stock struts hubs ect if i just get some drive shafts from the xud9 as the xud7 had some gay set up. any help will be appreciated

thanks ash

Yes the engine mounts are the same. Are you going to use the xud9 gearbox if so om the short shaft you need to use the 306 gearbox end on a 205 shaft (easy to change) the long one I used the 205 shaft and it seems fine. Or you can use the diff out of the 1.8. Also you need to convert the clutch cable aswell from push to pull type.

keep the standard box and the driveshafts will be fine, though if its an n-a box it'll be a bit short, of it you get a box with the XUD9TE engine swap the diff from the XUD7 box, then you can use stock 205 shafts.

XUD7 and 9 205's used the same driveshafts.

use most of the 205 hoses, ditch the fuel filter heater hoses though, as the 306 has an integral fuel heater in the base of the filter assembly as its bolted to the top of the thermostat housing.

engine mounts are all the same, make sure you use the correct gearbox mounting stud, as the 205 one is different to the 306.
