Inlet Manifold

Is it true when the bobine (i don't know if it's a correct English word, i mean the black part on top of the inlet manifold) is fitted on top of the inlet manifold that it's a DKZ inlet manifold?

Bobbin is a "coil".

No it's not true.

DKZ's do have the coil (similar to Mi16) mounted on top of the inlet manifold however.

any inlet manifold after December 1989 or thereabouts will have the Ignition coil mounted on top of the inlet manifold regardless of specific engine type, on the gti model.

Ok, thanks.

I bought a 1.9 D6B engine for my 1.6 GTI(B6D). The strange thing is that the inletmanifolt has a coil ontop of it. I thought this was only the case with DKZ engines, not D6B.

I don't think the wire loom of my 1.6 B6D will fit to the coil ontop of the inletmanifold as the 1.6B6D has another connection on the coil.

I understood that the wire loom of the 1.9D6B is exact the same as the 1.6B6D.

if you haven't the wiring loom for the new engine just use the original one with coil etc, but you will need 1.9 afm coil and injectors.

Thx Welshpug, i do have the 1,9 injectors but what do you mean with afm coil?

I guess i can use the Original 1.6 coil(bosch) with the 1.9 distributorcap?

sorry, you need the air flow meter, ecu and distributor from a 1.9, the coil is the same for 1.6 and 1.9.

Got some new questions, are there differences in the distibutor and airflowmeter for the 1.9D6B and 1.9DKZ?

yes, DKZ runs Motronic, which controls spark timing, and runs the same afm as a 1.9 MI16, D6B runs Jetronic.

ignition coil is the same.

Thx! Is there an overview for numberparts for the airflowmeter and distributor for Jetronic? Or are are the jetronic visibly recognisible by Jetronic written on the parts?

How can i sepperate the Motronic and Jetronic parts?
