Central Locking

Recommended Posts

Not working when locking drivers door.

When I unlock the drivers door, the passenger door and boot remain locked.

If I unlock the boot, then lock the drivers door, the boot locks.

When I lock the drivers door, I can hear the central locking trying to do its thing. I have had the drivers door card off and tested the central locking wiring, all seems fine.

Any ideas? Where is the relay for the central locking?

I had exactly the same problem as in the doors would all lock but only drivers side would open. With mine it was the actuator in the drivers side door. This is a common problem as they wear. Depending on the year of your car it should be the grey unit (if phase 1 or 1.5) or the black unit (if phase 2) but ready to be corrected. If you put the wrong unit on (as in black if it should be grey) you will keep blowing the 25 amp fuse that also kills the radio and interior light so make sure that you get the correct unit. Simple enough to change. Someone on here is bound to have one. If you are stuck i think i have a black one, as i bought the wrong one for mine and learnt the hard way....as usual.

Ok, I swapped out the actuator but still no joy. I have also tried plugging it in then unplugging it away from the door and it tries but it is almost as though it is not getting the message.

Is there a relay, if so is it the same as any others in the car that I could temporarily swap to see if it gets it working again.
