Port And Polish Head Or Standard?

I have picked up a standard ''rebuilt'' head (1.9 gti 8v) for the 205 it has a piper cam and vernier pulley.

The guy also had a few engines i picked up while i was there, one of the engines the head has been ported and polished, looks to be a professional job, would i be worth using the ported head but put the cam and pulley on it? or just stick to the rebuilt standard one?

 

Ive read posts where people say not to port these heads as they loose flow
