Where To Get Top Hat Washers?

Recommended Posts

johnnyboy666

Are there any places with a large range of top hat washers and similar? I need several for a project but it seems daft getting somebody to make them up on a lathe if I can get them off the shelf.

Ive found lots of places that do nylon ones, but not so much metal.

At the moment I need some for a motorbike shock linkage, as well as a few other bike related bits. But at some point I will be going to eccentric top mounts, so yes that too.

assume all members at the moment are on a par with Sheldon Cooper, then as your time grows on this site, you'll notice which members are kidding themselves and way out of their normal social zone - eg, Penny. You'll sneak your way in with minimal input and influence - like Raj.

Quite.

I seem to have found some oilite ones which are cheap enough to get for a test run on the bike linkage. Think i'll need to look into their properties first though, having not used oilite before.

I bookmarked the site on my other computer, i think it was bearing boys or something like that.

So i've ordered a couple of oilite ones for the bike from bearingboys, but jesus christ they were expensive after vat and postage! So i'm still on the hunt for a decent source.

Anybody had any ideas?

It took me a while, but I have found the answer to my problem. It seems what I have been calling top hat washers, everybody else calls flanged bushes. I've found plenty now!
