Standard Back Box

Hello,

 

I need to order a new back box for my 1990 1.6 GTI. I thought that the one I needed was the Klarius PG210M but I'm a little confused as it lists the 1.9 GTI & 1.6/1.9 CTI's but not the 1.6 GTI. Will this be OK to use?

There is no difference between 1.6 and 1.9 exhausts. However there is a difference between pre and post 1990 cars so yours is on the changeover. The part number you posted is for a later car (olive fitment) so it will fit yours if that is how your current one fits. The alternative is sleeve fitment. It's best to have a look under the car to see how the current system is fitted really, even on a non changeover year it is worth checking as the whole system can be changed over so you can have a late exhaust on an early car and vice versa.

Out of interest, where did you get the back box from?

I got it from eurocarparts through eBay. It arrived today (with a few dents as it was sent out as is!) I've got to see how it lines up as I've got a horrible feeling it may point to the left...........
