Next Step In Sharpening Up The Steering/suspension

Recommended Posts

Bovien

I've upgraded with new Peugeot Sport dampers front/rear, Eibach springs, new suspension arms and refurbished the rear beam. I'm searching for a PAS rack or Xsara rack to sharpen up my 3,7 turn manual steering, but it is soooo hard to find (based in DK, driving LHD).

What would you suggest as next step?

Larger anti roll bars (which), strut braces or something else?

How much gain is there from strut braces on the 205gti? I'm not seeing a lot of them, but the chassis is kinda softy so I would belive they would help out quite a bit or?

I highly recommend a strut brace, they really tighten up the front end and make an instant noticeable difference.

Omp do an adjustable strutbrace, that's the one I'd go for

I remember somebody telling me that the peugeot sport LHD quick racks were Nova racks, turned upside down ;)

Big rear anti roll bar, makes a big difference.

Tom when you say "big" how big in particular? I have a similarish front setup with:

Front - Eibach Pro-S springs but with Bilstien Group N dampers and standard 1.6 ARB.

Rear - 1.6 spec, standard everything bar Bilstien Group N dampers.

What larger size rear ARB would be ideal for brisk fast road use? And would it work effectively with the standard TB's?

PS- Apologies for the hijack :)

It's a matter of personal preference to a point - somewhere around 22 to 24mm seems to work well on the road combined with a typical modest suspension setup (ie uprated dampers, lowering springs, but standard torsion bars).
