Bottom Rear Quarter Panel/sill Rust/replacement?

Recommended Posts

Kezzer30

Hi lads , basically like most my 205 has started to rust in the usual place at the bottom of the quater panel on the passangers side.

So heres my question ive seen a few of you have replaced this peice and had a new one welded in and then the usual painting to make it like new etc , where can i get the peice from ? Is it a case of finding a shell that had a good peice and cutting it off or can i grab one elsewhere .

Ps can update with pictures later on if required cheers lads

Replacing a quarter panel due to the 205-typical rust along the join/bottom of the B pillar is a serious undertaking! The rust would have to be fairly terminal before that is necessary! Like welshpug says, localised rust treatment/welding would be a better bet.

As far as I know, quarter panels from Peugeot are no longer available, although they do occasionally turn up on ebay (usually non-GTi) ones though, missing the fixing points for the arch trim etc. Most people who have done it recently have removed panels from decent shells as far as I know.

Mine had a new quarter panel- here are a couple of photos to show you the work involved!
