Which 205 Models / Colour-Ways Are The Hardest To Find?

Recommended Posts

I thought there was two yellow gti's?

There was one yellow 205 GTi and one yellow 309 GTi. Confirmed by Peugeot. The 205 is still around, don't know what became of the 309 though.

I don't think yellow suits it at all..looks like a council vehicle.

It was a trial to see how it looked. It would seem that Peugeot UK thought the same back then as some of us do now, and decided not to take it any further and offer it as a mainstream option.

When did they introduce the third brake light, as per the R reg white one?

My 1992 gti has the slots in the tailgate for one, but no actual light, although I have now retrospectively fitted one.

Did any P plate ones have it fitted? One of mine has what looks like an aftermarket bar but I've never seen another. Weren't all the late ones vanilla run offs?

I've never seen a picture of the yellow 309. I've seen cars that have been sprayed but never the original

Very interesting this thread.

We ( here in OZ ) got 30 cars with a 94 plate. They were all Mayerlin green and numbered 1-30. Not to dissimilar to your 1FM. They had full leather ( very rear here in OZ ) and a very slight bronze hue in the paint on the 15in speedlines. Pretty cool

Our cars from 87-89/90 were a 1.6 gti ( running gear ) with a detuned 1.9 motor ( lower comp ) Known as a Series 1 ( sliders dash )

Then 89/90-90/91 were series 2 which were the same mechanical arrangement ( 1.9 engine low comp with 1.6 running gear ) ( some cars had a BE3 box, most a Be1 )

Then Series 3 which was the CAT 122hp version from 90/91-94. We never received the full fat 130hp 205 gti

Every 205 delieverd to OZ had aircon and almost all of them dont work! The sun here killed almost all of the 205s paint and most of the dashes here have cracked from the sun also.

Reviving this tread somewhat, has anyone spotted any unusual 205s recently?

Pretty sure I saw a Lacoste on gumtree recently it's gone now , wasn't advertised as a Lacoste though. Would have bought a hard top Rolland garos locally if I had anywhere to put it but it's not my favourite colour and the interior seems to deteriorate even faster than a gti but it was cheap and it has the tu3s engine.

Mines a G reg graphite grey xs non sunroof, cant be too many of them left now.. i know it's not unusual but I hope I can keep it going for as long as I keep going. Feel like I should not use it as a daily driver but it's served me well for over 3 years and over 10 thousand miles.

Good thread revival btw I enjoyed reading it!
